Fantastic Home Office

It has to be said that we do design and build a great many home offices. Your work-life balance, the reduced costs and improved productivity plus adding value to your home are some of the key benefits. And quite frankly they look so good in the garden and that alone is worth it.

We built this one near Worthing in West Sussex for a client who runs his own business and has an office in the centre of London but does not need to be there every day. In fact, he moved out of London in search of a slower pace of life and better lifestyle and has achieved more than he expected. He is now able to indulge in his passion for mountain biking on the South Downs on a regular basis as well as skateboarding along the promenade on sunny weekday evenings all thanks to the ability to work comfortably and efficiently from home.

The building is a great size, measuring 3m x 3.2m which allows for a large desk, two substantial shelving units and a large, cosy armchair. A building of this size lends itself to being used for more than one purpose if designed well and the clever us of a single door and large window wrapped around the corner, means that you maximise natural light without compromising on wall space. As ever the garden home office is extremely well insulated ensuring it is warm in the winter, cool in the summer and displays excellent soundproofing qualities which are all essential when using it as a permanent work space.

Outside it is clad with Canadian red cedar with grey doors and windows, a very popular look. Internally the walls are plastered and painted. We have installed low energy LED spotlights and a hard wearing oak effect laminate floor.
